Here at Tutor Serve we know that a good tutor is more than someone who is just academically qualified. When bringing to mind poor teachers from our past, what we remember is not their lack of erudition, but rather, how they failed to inspire us, failed to engender an interest in the subject, which would naturally make for a more inquisitive and receptive group of students.
A teacher may know the date of every battle, the name of every commander, from those who fought in the Peloponnesian War, through more than two thousand years, to the characters of the court of Louis XVI, and the causes of the French Revolution; but if they cannot make their subject captivating, all the information they impart will be as dry and sterile as if they were enumerating numbers in a phone book.
Our tutors know how to make their subject interesting, to capture the student's attention, and kindle in them the spark of interest. All have been carefully selected, and have a passion for teaching. As experienced tutors, they know the benefits of one to one tuition - how to spot the specific aspects the pupil is not grasping. This is surely the greatest benefit private tuition affords: the individual attention, impossible to replicate in a classroom, when one teacher may have thirty pupils dividing their attention.
Whatever the specific purpose may be, we believe the benefits of tutoring are numerous. For more information please see our about us page.
